Yoga for Bigger Bodies traditionally holds retreats twice a year. If you have never treated yourself to a retreat, this is a great introduction into the art and practice of rejuvenation. Offered in a safe, body positive and beautiful setting, these retreats are a way of going deeper into yoga and emphasizes a healing relationship with body and mind. Yoga Embodied: A Body-Positive Yoga Weekend
October 20th and 21st:
Friday, 6:30-8:30pm and Saturday, 1-5pm

Held at YOGA REFUGE in Portland, Oregon
$35 for Friday only, $75 for Saturday only or $100 for the whole weekend

Join Julie Westlin-Naigus (Yoga for Bigger Bodies) and Anna Chapman (Body Love Yoga) for a two day workshop that incorporates Health At Every Size®, body exploration, and joyful movement. This workshop is designed for those who often feel left out of the conversation of movement because of their size, and are looking for a safe community to explore their bodies. This workshop is for all levels, everyone from beginners who have yet to step on the mat to seasoned practitioners.

This retreat is designed to empower and enhance your relationship with your body and mind through the tools of yoga, Health at Every Size© (HAES) and Body Vulnerability™. Students will learn to explore their bodies through Hatha yoga, collaborative exercises, journaling, open dialogue and the exploration of vulnerability. This practice ranges from easy to intermediate, focusing on breath, alignment, anatomy, freedom of movement, and meditation, designed to bring yoga to those who feel that the traditional class setting is not providing the support and encouragement to feel successful in yoga and is open to any student wishing to enjoy the benefits of yoga with others of a similar shape or size no matter their experience.

Julie Westlin-Naigus, LPC, certified Kripalu yoga teacher, has taught yoga for 9 years. Julie has an M.A in counseling with an emphasis in Eating Disorders and Body Image. She facilitates workshops, groups and individual counseling at Be Nourished and The People’s Yoga, combining mindfulness, embodied awareness, joyful movement and Health at Every Size© to help foster body acceptance and trust.
